Identify Windows Device OS Versions in Otto

Windows Platform as a Service (WPaaS) admins can use Otto to identify the Windows 10 operating system versions installed on their unit's WPaaS systems.

Environment

Windows Platform as a Service

Procedure

There are several ways OS data may be viewed including pie chart, list view, CSV report.

Pie Chart - High Level View

Open Otto (https://otto.euc.it.umich.edu/) in a web browser and select your Windows Platform as a Service organization. On the left side of the browser window, you can view a pie chart to show the distribution of systems with each operating system. Hover the mouse pointer over the pie chart to view the number of systems with a specified OS version.

List View - Filtered by OS

Open Otto (https://otto.euc.it.umich.edu/) in a web browser and select your Windows Platform as a Service organization. To view a list of devices with a specified OS version, use the drop-down “Filter by OS” menu on the upper-right area of the organization page:

Text-based Device Report - Comma-Separated-Value

Open Otto (https://otto.euc.it.umich.edu/) in a web browser and select your Windows Platform as a Service organization. To access a comma-separated-value (CSV) value report of devices that includes operating system version data, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Navigate menu and select Organizations and Groups.

  2. Click the name of your organization to open your PaaS organization page.

  3. In the Groups section of the organization page click a group name to report on. This will open configuration page for the selected group.

  4. In the Actions section of the group page, click CSV Report. This will download a CSV formatted file that may be opened in Excel, Google Sheets, or a text editor.

Note that the CSV reports that contain OS version data are per group. To obtain OS version data from devices in different groups, you must generate a CSV report for each group.
