Uninstalling Oracle Java in Izzy
Uninstalling Oracle Java in Izzy
Oracle has announced that it is moving away from the Named User License model for Java and will be basing subscriptions on the total number of employees at a business, the Oracle Java SE Universal Subscription.
Izzy will be removing any installs of Oracle Java from macs as they check in for updates. We recommend moving over to Amazon’s OpenSource Corretto version 8 for your future java needs.
Amazon’s Corretto Download site: Releases · corretto/corretto-8 Be sure to grab the right version x64(Intel) or aarch64(Silicon) for your macintosh in the list.
More detail on the versions of java and their functions can be found at: Which Version of JDK Should I Use?
