N-1 OS Version Support Policy

Izzy will only provide packages and application updates for Macs running the current and one previous operating system version.

What this means: Macs running a macOS that is 2 operating systems behind the current OS will not be able to download packages from Managed Software Center, including updates to already-installed apps.

• Managed Software Center will not display any applications or updates.

• Apple OS updates, in addition to OS upgraders, will continue to be delivered.

• Unit IT can see which systems in their inventory are unable to upgrade to the current macOS (or other versions of macOS) using the “Download CSV” button on their organization’s page in Izzy.

Why this policy: Apple formally announced that they do not patch every security issue in any version of macOS other than the most current.
