Configuring Managed Software Center Notifications

MiWorkspace Mac Customers can configure when Managed Software Center appears.

In System Preferences, there will be a "MiWorkspace" icon:

The preference pane has two options: "Days between identical update prompts" and "Notify me of updates."  These settings are for the system and are not per user.

Days betwen identical prompts lets users control how often Managed Software Center will show up with identical updates.  That is, even if it's set to 3 days, when new updates have been released it will prompt the next day.  Users can configure between 1 and 3 days, while NIT staff can set it to 5 on IzzyWeb.

In addition, users can switch their system to a windowed update mode, starting at 5:30 PM through 8 AM - note, the screen says 5 PM but the actual window is configured to 5:30.

Systems that are not primarily associated with a single user (e.g., lab systems) will show the screen grayed out with the words "Settings are managed by your administrator."  There is a corresponding checkbox in IzzyWeb to lock out the prefpane. If the system (in IzzyWeb) is configured to use either Snooze or Never scheduling, the "notify me of updates" options will gray out, but the indentical days option will not.
