Provide Admin Rights or Remote Desktop Access

Note: this only applies to Windows systems.

First, Find or Pair New System to Otto.

Then under System Actions choose Edit Admin and RDP Users.

Enter uniqnames in either field and then submit your changes. Otto will perform work that triggers the configurations.

For Admins, Group Policy will add an Active Directory group with same name as the system to the local Administrators group, and will add the specified uniqnames to that Active Directory group.

For RDPS, Group Policy will add an Active Directory group with the same name as the system plus “-RDP” to the local Remote Desktop Users group, and will add the specific uniqnames to that Active Directory Group. It will also add the system to the Active Directory group called EUC-EnableRemoteDesktop, which configures group policy to enable Remote Desktop connections on the system.

NOTE: Once this configuration has been set, the client machine will need to reboot on the campus network at least once, probably twice, to properly process the new group policy configurations.

On any system, you can see who is configured to have Admin and RDP access:
