The following list of applications are either 32-bit applications or have some part of the application that is 32-bit and so will not run on macOS 10.15.
Please note that older versions of applications were not tested here – only the most current versions available in Managed Software Center were checked for 64-bit compatibility.
This list is current as of 10-2-2020. This list will be updated as newer versions of these applications come out.
IF THESE APPLICATIONS ARE IMPORTANT TO YOUR UNIT: Please reach out to the vendors and ask what their timeline for Catalina support is.
Applications that we expect will support Catalina in the future:
Vendor has confirmed development but no ETA for release (all are 32-bit):
- DNASTAR Lasergene – version 17 is being pre-validated (waiting for licensing decisions)
- Hudl SportsCode – version 12 is being pre-validated (waiting for licensing decisions)
- KaleidaGraph
- MathType 8 – the vendor has indicated this will not ship in 2020
No ETA / other:
- Canon Printer Scanner Utility - some printers include this; we don't have a comprehensive list
- CLAN (ON RETIREMENT LIST)
- FrameForge Previz Studio version 4 supports Catalina, but we only have licensing for 3.5.
- Preps 6 (Preps 8.4 is the current version, but it's still 32-bit).
- Xerox "Express ScanManager"
- Toast Titanium 18, a paid upgrade, is supposed to work with Catalina – ITAM is not purchasing this.
"Legacy" (dead) applications that will most likely never be 64-bit:
Applications that are 64-bit, but do not work in Catalina:
- OpenOffice (requires Apple's Java JRE – which does not work in Catalina)
- Pyware 3D (requires Apple's Java JRE – which does not work in Catalina)
- MEGA7
- JEdit (also does not work on older OSes as it requires Oracle's Java)
