Prestaging a system configures MiWorkspace's management systems to allow the system to be run through the task sequence and complete with all of the proper configurations. Prestaging a system that already exists in Active Directory does not delete the AD system object, but it may move it to a different OU depending on the system's group's configuration. Prestaging will also modify the systems group memberships to align it with the system's Resultant Set of Packages/Configurations. Prestaging a system will clear its Package and Configuration selections to re-align it with the group's configuration.

Once you've located or paired your system, you can take action on that system on the System page. At the top of the System page there are a list of available actions depending on your role.
Click Prestage System. The page will refresh and you'll see a notification at the top that the prestage is running.
The Prestage takes anywhere from 5-30 seconds. After a period of time, refresh the page and you'll see the worker post messages about the status. These external events are on the right side in the middle of the System page.
The prestage is now complete and you're ready to kick off the task sequence.
