Visit Otto.euc.it.umich.edu. On the landing page, you'll see a list of organizations and systems that you have rights over. On the left sidebar, you can search for systems or pair a new system.
In the searchbar, type a computer name, serial number, Mac address, or other identifier. You can use * as a wildcard, LIKE and other matching techniques. If the computer appears, click on it.
If the computer does not appear, it doesn't exist in Otto. Enter its serial number in the Pair A System box and click pair. When Pairing a machine, you're prompted to provide a Group and optionally, an Otto Name.
Prestaging a system configures MiWorkspace's management systems to allow the system to be run through the task sequence (or for MiWorkspace systems can configure them for at-home/Intune builds). Prestaging a system that already exists in Active Directory does not delete the AD system object, but it may move it to a different Organizational Unit (OU) depending on the system's group's configuration. Prestaging will also modify the system's group memberships to align it with the system's Prestage Items. Prestaging a system will clear its Package and Configuration Selections to re-align it with the group's configuration.
See QuickStart Find or Pair New System to Otto to find or pair a system.
Once you've located or paired your system, you can take action on that system on the System page. At the top of the System page there are a list of available actions depending on your role.
Click Prestage System. The page will refresh and you'll see a notification at the top that the prestage is runningbegin by clicking "Prestage: Next"
The Prestage form will appear with any available options.
Prestage OS: Units that have had the option to build with the Windows 11 OS will have 2 "Prestage OS" options available. Select the OS that you plan to use on the machine you are building. Windows 10 will be the default OS option for MiWorkspace and PaaS systems until June 2, 2023. After June 2, 2023, the default MiWorkspace OS will be Windows 11. The Windows 11 OS is only available to specific Units
Build Type: MiWorkspace Systems that support @Home builds provide a Build Type option in the Prestage form that lets you indicate that you are prestaging for a conventional Task Sequence (OSD) build, or for a MDM (mobile device management) @Home build. PaaS systems will only have the Task Sequence option for the Build Type. Choose the appropriate option:
Note: The Prestage options will also let you choose if you want to clear the Admin and RDP Users on the machine. This option is checked by default and especially important when building a machine that will be changing owners (trickle-down, loaner, shared machine, etc.). If you are rebuilding an existing machine for the same customer, there is no need to clear the existing Admin and RDP Users.
Click Prestage.

During the task sequence an Event is created to track its progress.
Build Events (prestage, task sequence, and build validator) may also be viewed in bulk in the Build Events area on the Home Page.
And on any system, Click the Events link under Actions to see a list of all events on the system.
