New behaviors in Sequoia (macOS 15)
Applications that want to “find devices on your local network” will pop up with an “Allow” or “Don’t Allow” dialog the first time any account logs into a computer. According to Apple, this is “Expected Behavior” and we do not have the ability to control this pop-up.
Some applications will ask you to “Allow” or “Don’t Allow” it is launched, per user. You may see this with Zoom, as Zoom is trying to find Zoom Room devices, but Zoom will work completely fine if you click Don’t Allow.
Applications may ask you to grant the ability to “access data from other apps”. Apps of note that may do this include -- but are not limited to – Matlab, Snagitapps.” MATLAB, SnagIt, Zoom and Zotero . If you notice any additional applications doing this, please reach out to the Mac team on Slackmay show this alert when first launched.
Some
applications Applications that need to use older “Screen & System Audio Recording” (like Zoom or Camtasia) may show a dialog box where you can “Allow For One Month” for temporary access or Open System Settings to permanently set that accessAPIs, including Zoom and Camtasia, may trigger an alert asking you to grant the app the ability to record the screen and/or microphone This grant only lasts one month, and it cannot set it permanently.
Building Loading a computer from scratch will show a “Welcome To Mac” screen before you can log in . As of the current release, we can not hide that screen.
Applications
ChemDraw does not currently license on a clean install of Sequoia.
The “Omni” family of applications currently prompt with a dialog box indicating they are not certified for macOS 15. We expect updated releases of those applications when Sequoia shipsthe first time.
