What kind of devices get tagged?
MiWorkspace - Managed computers
MiWorkspace - Unmanaged computers
such as iPads, Chromebooks, and other computers the unit wants to track
Digital Signage computers
as long as they are owned by a MiWorkspace-subscribing unit
What kind of devices don’t get tagged?
Unit Managed computers
Computers owned by non-MiWorkspace units
Peripherals
such as printers, monitors, and docking stations
Furniture
such as desks, chairs, risers, and stands related to computers

Tips and Other Notes
Product Model
Many of the fields are now dropdowns with the actual TDx options
If the model of the item needing a record does not exist in the dropdown, select this option:
Model Not in Catalog
Then provide the model information in the Notes field below
Purchase Order & Shortcode
If the machine was purchased at all recently, the unit must provide this information by way of a receipt or an invoice, which can be emailed to NIT and/or depot-purchasing@umich.edu
Very old machines are exempt from this requirement, since it’s unreasonable that the unit would have the info in that case
Owning Department (Name or Number)
Ideally both Name and Number would be provided by NIT
TeamDynamix uses the following syntax: [dept name] Dev Svcs & Strategic Solutions 638000 [dept id]
NIT or Depot can convert the shortcode to the correct TDx value using the ITS Chartfields Converter
