New behaviors in Sequoia (macOS 15)
Applications that want to “find devices on your local network” will pop up with an “Allow” or “Don’t Allow” dialog the first time any account logs into a computer. According to Apple, this is “Expected Behavior” and we do not have the ability to control this pop-up. Some of the common apps that may do this would be non-Safari web browsers (Chrome, Edge, etc), Davinci Resolve, the “Omni” apps, Resolume Arena, Matlab and a number of others.
Some applications will ask you to Allow (or not) “Allow” or “Don’t Allow” the ability to “access data from other apps”. Apps of note doing that may do this include -- but are not limited to – the silent Adobe Acrobat updater, the Adobe “CCLIbrary” on restart, Matlab, Snagit, Zoom and Zotero. If you notice any additional applications doing this, please reach out to the Mac team on Slack.
Building a computer from scratch will show a “Welcome To Mac” screen before you can log in. As of the current betasrelease, we can not hide that screen.
