System Preferences is now called “System Settings” and is different than any previous version of macOS. User guidance and documentation may need to be edited.

Applications

As of November 4December 13, 2022

• The following list of applications either have issues launching on macOS 13.0 (Ventura).

• Please note that older versions of applications were not tested here, only the most current versions available in Managed Software Center were checked.

• We do not have the ability to check every feature in every application. If you have a critical application, we recommend getting clarification from that app’s vendor.

• Parallels Desktop 17 – and 18

  • Not automatically licensed with ITAM installs (reported to vendor). UPDATE – 18.1.1 appears to fix this (going through QA)
    

Applications that currently do not launch successfully or have issues on Ventura (macOS 13):

• Lightwright 6

  • Quits unexpectedly at launch (next version is in beta but not out yet)

• Specify

  • Asks for Java 1.8 Virtual Machine but does not work with Coretto 18 (works fine on Monterey) – package to be retired Jan 1, 2023– UPDATE – this is an issue with a requirement of an old version of Corretto that is no longer in the catalog. We are working on possible solutions to this.
